VicDrift's First competitive event for the 2012 season the " www.gktech.com.au Championship " was a huge success.
With participants entering from all over the nation. We had South Australians, Victorians and even kids from New South Wales enter!
The track time was great and the day flowed really well with minimal downtime.
The extreme entry comp held at turn 3 was a lot of fun and something different for the spectators down at Winton Motor Raceway.

Victorian Drift Club 2012 season opens up with the spectacular 2 days Drift Matsuri at Winton Raceway, Victoria. It has been 1 of the best events organized by the VicDrift crew yet, and it's only the start of the year!
With 150+ participants, more cars than your fingers can count, and a whole lot of tyre smoke that can inflate a blimp, it sure attracts a lot of crowds and entries from all over the country.

This was the first event I have had a media pass, its just a shame the cameras i had were far from great. but it was awesome to be amongst the burning rubber and screaming waste gates!

Big thanks to VicDrift for putting on such a great event, and also to the Calder Park officials for opening up the track for everyone.
Myself and a friend Geoff spent the day in our co owned 180sx having a bit of fun and clearing out some skill rust that had accumulated!
I had not drifted or competed in any motorsport for a few years, so it was an interesting experience to get back on the bike. The bike was a relatively un setup, lower power car and it took some man handling.
We had some Toyo Proxes on the rear for most of the day, so we had to work it hard to keep it sideways.…
