Meet Timmy Burke, a 12-year old from South Boston native suffering from leukemia. Through a program called Team Impact, which formally matches up kids with life-threatening diseases with college teams, Tim demanded to be matched up the Merrimack hockey program. Merrimack officially adopted Timmy in January at the team’s holiday skate at Fenway Park. And since donning the navy and gold for the first time that night, Timmy has been a fixture around Lawler Arena, attending nearly every practice and game and spending time with the team outside of hockey.

Over 400 students, faculty, and community members came out on November 10th to serve their community in the first annual "Mack Gives Back". The idea behind choosing November 10th for ‘Mack Gives Back’ stems from Merrimack College's history with veterans, as the college originally opened in 1947 primarily to provide an education to those returning from war. Not coincidently, ‘Mack Gives Back’ is also meant to represent a birthday remembrance for St. Augustine.
