We covered the preparation at 6.30am and it was a mad rush as the wedding ceremony starts at 9am. I am glad everything happened at the same location. This minimizes logistics and we don't have to lug all our equipments from one place to the other.
A little bit about the couple. Victor and Sophia are both doctors in Ireland. They met when they were in medical school. Their relationship bloom from close friends to lovers. Victor is originally from Johor and Sophia is from Sarawak. Meeting them for the first time one week before the wedding, we had so much fun talking to them. I realized that Sophia can actually speak fluent "hokkien". Its amazing how our Malaysian cultures are so diverse!
During the wedding ceremony, Victor and Sophia wrote their own vows. I won't tell you here but you gotta hear it yourself in this SDE piece edited by Sharon.
Shot with Panasonic HMC152 and Canon 7D with 35mm F2, 50mm F1.8 and 85mm F1.2

here is what ive always believed should define a wedding film.
its very simple actually.
the couple, their families+firends, and what they go thru and feel during this once in a lifetime day.
and while i was blessed to have shot this film within a magical city in mexico, i feel it is important to perhaps touch on the location and all the little events that go on during the day; but to not get too carried away.
to me, the focus and pull of the film should always be driven and to travel alongside the journey with the bride and groom.

k where do i begin?!!
this summer has been incredibly busy, from vancouver, to miami, to sydney, to hawaii, to niagara falls (haha k this is only a 200km drive) shooting weddings, teaching workshops, shooting corporate promos + commercials and of course shooting more weddings.
things are taking longer then expected but b4 i launch my website + 2010 highlights; i want to quickly share with you the first ever myw multi day south asian wedding that i attended this past weekend.
while i've had the oppurtunity to shoot hindu and sikh indian weddings in the past this was the first time i've shot a 5 day (yes 5 day) Ismaili wedding; and i sure had a TON of learning to do. I was up with farzana + shameer @ their place (luckly they live 2 mins away from me!! hehe) till 5 am, after a 4 hour pre-wedding…
This is our first wedding for 2011! Its a great start for us.
Our experience with Navin and Subashini's wedding was simply awesome. While most of our wedding shoot is very stressful, we just felt peace while shooting this wedding. The pace of events unfolding was just simply nice. I just love it! The couples were fantastic and we felt we were there not as vendors but as their friends.
Navin and Suba's relationship is simply special. When I knew them, I immediately felt the passion they had for each other, though they are private people. I am glad they have opened up to us.
Here's something we edited over the week for Navin and Suba to premiere at their Batu Pahat's reception. Check out the cute ring bearer who is also Suba's newphew. He is just adorable.

Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
