This spit of land in the Hamilton harbor is a breeding area for three bird colonies, Ring-billed Gulls, Double-crested Cormorants and Black-crowned Night-Heron. I have been dropping by every week or so to take some video in the hopes of putting together a documentary on one season. It won't be long until chicks will arrive which will be interesting.

I am able to shoot from my car from behind a concrete barrier and therefore they are not disturbed.

This is a series of three timelapse sequences of the area.

There is an area a few kilometers from my house that has some large communication towers, and they leave the grass uncut till late summer. This makes it a haven for grassland birds who have suffered from recent agricultural practice of early grassland cutting and bailing.

It is always a treat to hear the bubbly songs of Bobolinks when they return to breed.

The male plumage is unusual because it is light above which would seem to make it an easier target for overhead birds of prey.

In the background, Savannah Sparrows and Eastern Meadowlarks are singing.

My Canon 7D arrived this weekend, so i took it out to my fav park to do some video. i still have no idea how to use this thing, but had fun trying :)

Finalmente questo weekend ho preso la Canon 7D. e l'ho portato a provare alla Caffarella. Ancora non so come si usa questa macchina, ma mi sono divertito molto :)
