Welcome to our city - to our world - of books. This is where we live.
A film for 4th Estate Publishers' 25th Anniversary. Produced by Apt Studio and Asylum Films.
The film was produced in stop-motion over 3 weeks in Autumn 2008. Each scene was shot on a home-made dolly by an insane bunch of animators; you can see time-lapse films of each sequence being prepared and shot in our other films.

Triumph of Time
Before our lives divide forever
while time is with us
and hands are free
I will sing no word
that a man might say
whose whole life`s love
goes down in the day
To think of things
that are what I would want
a dream foregone
and the deed foreborn
Is it worth a tear
Is it worth an hour
Earth has not spoiled
For a single shout
Earth has not spoiled
For a single shout
Here when no man do
for your sake I think
What I would have done
for the least words here
I have brung laugh drive
for your lips to drink
Broken it up
for your daily bread
Looms life, lose all
but at least I know
Oh sweet life`s love
having loved you so
Would I lose you now
would I take you then
And come what may
after death to man
Is it worth a tear
Is it worth an hour
Earth has not spoiled
For a single shout
Oh, I will sing no word
that a man might say
whose whole life`s love
goes down in a day
Whose whole life`s love
goes down in the day
Whose whole life`s love
goes down in her day

by Claude Cloutier — 2000
From the earliest forms of life on Earth to the world of today, From the Big Bang to Tuesday Morning uses absurdist humour to tell the biological story of humanity. From a mighty cosmic explosion comes the matter from which evolve the mineral, vegetable and animal worlds. There follows a series of metamorphoses illustrating the branching out of the human genealogical tree.
