  4. The February 2012 episode of Yuxtapongo, the NC public access TV show.

Variations on a Theme is a series in 3 segments. Two semi-narratives followed by a performance. The series explores the idea of the cult and through absurd exaggerations seeks to reveal the grotesque nature of rituals. The oddly specific and drawn out ceremonies that take place are meant not only to attack particular existing cults, but to also be left open in a way that allows any grouping of actions to be critically examined as potentially as meaningful or meaningless as "receiving the white tongue of salvation through one's inner ear." Then in the final phase, a performance by myself concludes the series with a scrapping attempt to deal with this loss of meaning or blind acceptance of meaning, in the creation of a nonstandard ceremony that is conscious and challenging. I am for an art that does what is left, even if it comes through the skin of a back and the scrape of gravel.
