Born in the "Rust Belt" of the United States, I first found inspiration photographing the decay of the once-thriving steel city where I grew up, Youngstown, Ohio. Stills photography, a love of documentary film, and strong interest in music production led me to pursue an education in film and art. After graduating a few years ago, I moved to Los Angeles where I have worked as a camera operator, editor, and director of photography on various narrative films, commercials, and documentaries.

Recently, I traveled through Morocco for several months where I studied Arabic intensively while working on a personal photography project along with a documentary.

I have an undying interest in alternative film processing techniques, traditional animation on film, and hand-painted clear leader films. My goal is to use these "experimental" film methods to enhance my personal documentary and narrative films.

Philip, this is an excellent video. How do you embed your videos on your blog in a larger format without losing quality?

I'm glad you like it. I saw your footage of California, and it really made me miss living there.
