Mars Horodyski is an award winning filmmaker who specializes in death comedy, family drama and documentary. She is an alumni of the Canadian Film Centre's Director's Lab and the Berlinale Talent Campus. Her films have screened at various festivals including the Montreal World Film Festival, the Atlantic Film Festival, the Whistler Film Festival, the Commonwealth Film Festival as well as the highly acclaimed Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films. In her third year at Ryerson she received the Norman Jewison Filmmaker Award for her film “Lemonade”.

Following her residency at the CFC she went on to the Universal Short Dramatic Film Program through which directed her short film “Spoonfed” which won the Golden Remi at WorldFest in Houston and was nominated for Best Drama at the Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival.

Her recent dramatic short film Human Resource premiered at Nuit Blanche in Toronto in October 2009. She is currently in production of a feature length documentary about Oscar nominated film director Tadeusz Jaworski and developing her first dramatic feature project with writer Lynne Kamm.
