Mr. Reich, this is awesome. I want to see more. This is fascinating and I am similarly turned off by televised debates. And television in general.

Hope you continue - this was great. Your radio, TV and blog presence show us what you know, and the vblog would be a great way to express in a more personal way how you feel about it. The insight would be interesting.

I stopped watching those yelling shows quite a while back. There's pretty much zero useful information conveyed in them. All that comes across is the animosity which ends up preventing the public from learning or understanding anything important going on in politics and our government.

So it would be nice to hear calm, rational discourse.

Also, Robert, if you could make a "High School Musical" clip like Charlie did, that'd be great.

    Mr. Reich,

Haas Undergraduate Business School Alum, and Connected Ventures employee Amir Blumenfeld here. I work with your son Sam.

I just had two questions. One, being from Berkeley, I wanted to know what your favorite restaurant is near campus (mine is Top Dog). And secondly, if you did end up marrying Hillary, do you think Sam and Chelsea Clinton would have gotten along?

As said before, it's really better than tv or radio show because there are nobody to cut you or interrupt you

I have disagreed with some of your political rhetoric in the past, but I would like to hear your views on economic and political events.

I've always found you to be well thought out and passionate about your views.
  • sbharnish 1 year ago
I agree with ed, your pieces in NPR's Marketplace always seemed to amount to "Things are going to hell in a handbasket since Democrats are out of power."

That said, at least you always gave clear reasoning and a understandable explanation for your views. Your thoughts are always welcome and appreciated here.

  • Jonathan Marcus 1 year ago
    Mr. Reich:

I have always been incredibly turned off by the traditional coverage of politics. The amount of disinformation is seriously dangerous to this country.

It would be fascinating, and really important to have a more straightforward perspective on important events.

Personal and candid conversation. How refreshing. Couldnt be a better fit for Vimeo!

The Vimeo community is intelligent, authentic and growing - wed love to have you grow with us in this new and amazing medium.

    Vimeo now has real celebrity.

If you raise the minimum wage will this not also cause prices of consumer goods to rise in direct proportion?
Seems to me this would be a bad thing for those in middle wage jobs without any real benefit for those in minimum wage jobs.
  •
  • charliesteadman 1 year ago
Mr. Reich, Robert. May I call you Bob? Bobby baby? Sweet cheeks? Fuzzy Bob?

The ranting political shows are to my disliking. However, I used to watch the McLaughlin Group before it was parodied regularly on SNL. Thereafter, I found those shows even more funny.

A political forum with an honest perspective approach is a great idea. People need to speak to each other about issues not just learn about them. Information is rather meaningless and useless if, one, it is not shared and two, if nothing good is done with it.

Enjoy your time on your Blog and Vimeo. I'm positive you will get even more insight and inspire more to be involved in making the world a better place.

  • trp0 1 year ago
That's what I like about "Washington Week" on PBS. I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk over anyone else or interrupt or yell. Just calm discussion by adults who let each other make their points before responding.

    Bye...bye.
  •
  • BHuddle 1 year ago
Yes, please tell us about your date with Hillary back in the day! I will definitely check out your blog - you should put it on-screen during your video. I don't think anyone around here would mind you, or anyone else, shilling for their blog like that, but that may not be proper etiquette in the Vimeo community. But maybe we can make an exception for you.

If the breath you took between saying 'She was president' and 'of her freshman class...' had been two fifths of a second longer, that would have been perfect.

Of course we want to hear those comparisons. Don't you dare snatch away that carrot. I want to hear it crunch.

this is huge. granted i align with the other side of the aisle - your use of vimeo and the internet in general is something more people in politics should strive for regardless of affiliation!

Strange, I never really found myself smiling at Mr. Reich's comments and/or commentary when he was in office, but I couldn't stop doing so here. Wonder if he's lightened up, I've lightened up, or Vimeo is contributing to a less politically polarized world? Hmmm...

    Greetings your Excellency!

Let me wish you well from the British Isles, you must know by now that we are not all Pig Farmers and Punk Rock musicians.

You'll find we are a rational forum, and we often discuss national policy acts and their implications, usually in a calm and observant manner.

We would be happy to act as a sounding board for your thoughts, feelings and communiques.

If I may recommend an invaluable appointee from our ranks, let me suggest that Caitlin Opperman (see above) is an expert on identity management in digital forums. I would suggest seeking her counsel before all others.

I think we would all love to see you doing more Vimeo work, I can see one now. Yourself and our Andy Milonakis , discussing the holding of presidential caucuses. That would be a rousing bit, indeed.

Soon you'll be the new Tina Mosh!

    Fine Regards,

    Edward
