Kevin Coleman
Kevin Coleman received an MFA in directing from the American Film Institute and BA in television and film from Howard University. Kevin has worked for veteran director and actor Bill Duke (Sister Act 2, Deep Cover, Hoodlum) on several projects and has directed the award winning shorts, "Osi" and "SNAPSHOT."
In the summer of 2011 Kevin finished his newest short film "Osi" which won BEST SHORT FILM at the 2012 Charlotte Black Film Festival. It's a short film about walking away from gun violence and drugs. The film addresses the alarming rate of foolish black on black crime in St. Louis. Kevin wanted to explore walking away from violence. Kevin is also developing the short and feature film "Elon Settles", which he plans to direct. The story is about a 16 year-old homeless male prostitute living on the streets of St. Louis. The script is based on Kevin's experience with a street youth while working at Youth In Need, Inc. a non-profit that serves at risk and homeless youth. Kevin is also slated to direct and co-produce "Duffle Bag Baby" written by Emmy award winning writer, Renee McClellan.
Kevin is Founder/CEO of Coleman Entertainment LLC an indie visual media entertainment company; colemanentertainment.com. Kevin is looking to collaborate with other artists, producers, and seeks investors for his narratives.
Kevin enjoys teaching and has taught at the University of MO at Kansas City and St. Louis Community College at Forest Park.
