A photograph is a moment, often recording less than a second of time. The time spent afterwards on that same photograph could be just as small.
As a photographer, I want each moment I render to be readable, to be meaningful when held up against the context of human life. Hopefully, through my work, you will feel a little bit of what I've felt, where I've been, and who I've met.
My name is Michael Conti. Most people call me by my last name. I'm currently a staff photographer for The Courier of Houma, Louisiana, telling stories about the people and land of the Bayou region.
My work has also been published in The Oakland Tribune, as well as the over 30 other publications in the Bay Area News Group, The Fayetteville (NC) Observer, the News and Observer, USAToday.com, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Rochester Daily Record and the St. Anthony Messenger.
