Storytelling is my passion.
As a master’s candidate at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, I'm concentrating in documentary video production. My undergraduate degree, also from Medill, is in long form magazine writing.
I believe every story deserves to be told through the medium that best communicates its essence, be it print, audio, video or interactive media. I have sought professional experience in all of these concentrations in order to fully explore the strengths and weaknesses of each one as a vehicle for storytelling.
The issues that move me are those of inequality: I've reported on insufficient healthcare in a refugee camp in Malawi and in South African townships near Johannesburg. I've covered humanitarian aid in the Sahel and in post-war northern Uganda. I've filmed a documentary on children living in violence in inner-city Chicago. Inspired by these opportunities, I hope to build my career upon in-depth, mindful multimedia journalism.
