Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County is a 501-C-3 organization. The Cooperative Extension is an extension of Cornell University, which is New York States land grant institution (see cce.cornell.edu/) for more information on CCE. The Marine Program was started in the 70's to answer the needs of the local fisherman and Bay-men as well as the Sports-fisherman. Cornell Marine helps them with many related issues they have to deal with on a day to day basis. The Marine Program also does research and education on eelgrass, storm-water, shellfish and much, much more.
