The Chicago South Asian Arts Council, Inc. (CSAAC) was formed in 2010 as a non-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization to plan and execute the annual event: the Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF). The festival, held in late September across 3-4 days, showcases independent films from South Asian and by filmmakers of South Asian origin. The Festival screened around thirty films each year and attracted over 5,000 audience members, high profile artists/filmmakers, and community leaders. Major supporters and sponsors include Columbia College Chicago, Comcast, and Chicago Film Office.
In 2014, CSAAC launches i2F2 – Next Generation Festival. The Festival expands the diversity of films showcased across a larger geographical spectrum with the vision to establish the Midwest’s first film and entertainment marketplace.
