The first time I laid hands on an ”Avid editing keyboard” was in 1997, when I worked as an editor/cinematographer at a local TV station in Copenhagen. Since then I have been spellbound and fascinated – and not left the keyboard ever since.
From an early age I followed my dream and educated my self by taking film-courses while working my way up in the Danish film and television industry. From 2004-2010 I focused on working as a full time editor on feature films, shorts, TV dramas, TV entertainment, children’s programmes and a number of documentaries.
Among larger scale projects, in 2007 I was the additional editor on the epic feature film: “Arn - The Knight Templar” directed by Peter Flinth and the documentary feature film: ”The Man who saved the world” by Peter Anthony. At Nordisk Film Production in 2008 I edited the first cut on the feature film: “Sweden is fantastic” directed by Jessica Nilsson and in 2009 I was the additional editor on Charlotte Sachs Bostrups’ youth feature film: “Karla and Jonas”.
I moved to England in 2010 and spent the following two years upgrading my autodidact background by undertaking a Master Degree in Film Editing at ’The National Film & Television School - NFTS’.
At the NFTS I have had the pleasure of editing five shorts. Additionally i have edited three comprehensive documentaries of which “The Betrayal” has among many awards won the Student Category at IDFA 2011. I have also enjoyed my self immensely while editing several poetic & creative ”art”-shorts.
After graduating in 2012, I moved back to Denmark to resume my career as a film editor. This has among many great projects led to a blossoming collaboration with director Mette Føns on “My Name” and a 6 episode Historical documentary with fictional reenactment about the history of Psychiatry in Denmark for DR2.
