Daniel Pinheiro
I am an enthusiastic wildlife filmmaker.
I am available as a freelance camera operator and sound recordist. I graduated with Communication and Multimedia from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, Portugal and completed a Master's degree in Wildlife Documentary Production from the University of Salford, UK. I have had master classes with professionals in the industry, many from the BBC Natural History Unit, who include Sir David Attenborough, Paul Reddish, Neil Lucas, Martin Elsbury and John Wood.
I did the Advanced Wildlife Sound Recording course with Chris Watson from Wildeye - International School of Wildlife Film-making, UK and have eight years experience as a sound operator and editor for radio and live orchestra recordings at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon. I am also a member of the Wildlife Sound Recording Society UK.
In 2011 I produced the film "MONDEGO" about the wildlife of the Mondego river in Portugal as my final project for my Master's degree. The film gained a distinction. I also worked as sound recordist for the film "The Enigmatic Macaws of Tambopata" by Christian Declercq in the Peruvian Amazon.
Skills: camera, sound recording, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, animal behaviour, tracking wildlife, editing, field audio gathering equipment, stills photography and timelapse.
