In 1982, Danh Do was the last of his siblings to be born in (Saigon) Vietnam before his parents made the sacrifice to migrate from their home country (1983) to the land of opportunity so that their children could grow up in a world with better opportunities.

Growing up as a first-generation family of five children living in Santa Ana, California Danh’s family faced struggles that were prevalent in many immigrant families. Though times may have been hard, his parents did a wonderful job of keeping their loving family together, humble, and hardworking. Danh’s favorite childhood moments were those where him and his family would be together in the living room simply enjoying a movie.

Aside from watching movies, Danh also loved watching music videos; his favorite video was Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” because that video told a story. From his earliest memories, Danh knew his dream would be to tell stories through a camera lens.

His first experience with film and entertainment started in his high school film class. He learned all the different aspects of putting a film together from writing, editing, acting, to directing and loved it all; accept for acting.

Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California was the breeding grounds for his career in film and entertainment. An assignment for a final project in his film class was to create a short movie. In 2003 he wrote, produced, directed, and edited his first short movie “All My Sole” a story in which a character today is considered a cult classic in the minds of many shoe collectors.

From this movie, his colleague Andy Vu recognized his talent and presented him with a life changing opportunity to travel, live in his native country (Vietnam) for six months and work on the feature film “The Rebel.” (2005) For this opportunity, he sacrificed staying at Long Beach State to pursue his dream in film. From this experience, Danh was exposed to the harsh living conditions of home country, realized his fortunes, and made a commitment that he would make his contributions to this world through the stories he would tell through a roll a film.

Since 2006 Danh has been working for Saigon Television broadcasting station as chief editor and has successfully produced over 100 commercials for businesses and organizations in almost every sector. He is also the chief editor of Van Son Entertainment and has produced over ten documentaries that are circulated throughout the world.

In 2007, he was involved with youtube sensations Justkiddingfilms. Justkiddingfilms relevance has earned them a cult following with thousands of fans ranging from the tender ages of 3 to adults alike! They are also recognized as SGV’s funniest online comedian act.

Danh is currently working on many exciting projects and his goals for the future are not definite but lay within holding his roots close, while using his American talent in film to help with the advancement of his Vietnamese community. With a few music videos under his belt, Danny also produced Saigon Electric, Vietnam's first dance film and now working and developing his first feature in Vietnam.
