Filmmaker Dan Thorens founded CW1 productions in 2003
He is also a Producer and co-writes a lot.
He made his debut directing Pinter's "The Dumb Waiter" and Fuggard's "Master Harold & the Boys", then 3 more plays from Pavlova, an unknown Russian author in an off off broadway theater in New York.
He likes to move into different genres and does so with ease.
He produced / directed short films, music videos and hosted two documentary series in English ("CITY-HOP and "MICRO-SYSTEMS") both shot in France Parallel to that he co-wrote 4 feature length films.
He owes his directing skills debut to the opportunity to work with renowned Jérôme Savary, Andreas Voutsinas and Jean Luc Goddard.
As an actor, he was lucky enough to get hired at the prestigious National Theater of Chaillot in Paris, first as an actor then as french director Roland Topor's assistant for a big production of UBU KING. He proceeded to do a lead part in a well known TV series in France, "Cordier Juge et Flic" then moved to New York where he was cast in various independent films including "Strutting To Chaos" and "Ian's Ghost".
Dan majored in Psychology at the Geneva University and has experienced diverse stages of training as an actor and, indirectly, director.
He enjoys the collaborative and discovery process and has worked with artists from all over the world.
Born in Montreal, Canada, and raised in several countries including 10 years in Africa (Ivory Coast, Cameroon), France, Switzerland and the US where he now resides.
