David Betteridge

I like pointing cameras at things. I have done this as a director, cinematographer and photographer for over 20 years, shooting commercials, corporate videos, television documentaries, music videos, photographic campaigns, books and interactive media projects. I have won a few awards, picked up an encyclopedic knowledge of visual storytelling trickery and directed over 250 productions - from Barclays Bank and BP to Barry White and Best Film at The British Short Film Festival.

Half man, half camera, I can shoot and light all film and video formats including HDCam, DVC Pro HD, Digi Beta, XDCAM, HDV, DVCAM, 35mm and Super 16. I have also worked as a professional photographer and my digital work was recently chosen for a book profiling twenty of the worlds most promising new digital photographic artists.

I own a Sony EX1 high definition camera kit with a Letus Extreme 35mm lens adapter and a huge selection of Nikon and Sigma 35mm lenses ranging from 14mm to 500mm as well as a Zeiss/Hartblei set of swing and tilt lenses and a full selection of easily transportable lighting kit.

I edit most of my work and I am kitted out with two Final Cut Pro HD suites (one mobile laptop) with raid storage and Magic Bullet Looks grading software. I can also author and encode DVD, web video and mobile media.

I have been conceiving and scripting since I began directing and often write and pitch to corporate clients at high levels. I am hard working, flexible, inventive and equally at home with a small three man traveling crew as with a large studio based unit. However I am rubbish at putting together flat pack furniture, darts and writing self indulgent profiles about myself.
