Dawn Schwartz is a film producer and filmmaker in New York. She has an MFA in Social Documentary Film from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Her current film, WORLD ON A STRING, explores the vibrant subculture of the yo-yo community as players compete in the World Yo-Yo Contest. If you combine documentary favorites Spellbound and Dogtown and Z-Boys, you'll have WORLD ON A STRING: it's the story of an underground community full of innovation, loss, friendship, and coming of age set against the backdrop of a dramatic competition. It’s a documentary film that leaves viewers feeling satisfied, enlightened, and motivated to follow their passions.
Dawn grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated summa cum laude from Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts.
