DC.KIROVSK.PRK will host the DC.KIROVSK.LAB camp
The stories of the legendary DC brand and Kirovsk, a polar city, are becoming more and more connected. In 2009 Kirovsk first hosted DC.KIROVSK.LAB, a snowboard camp which eventually had a great success. This year DC makes a giant leap further, organizing an all-season DC.KIROVSK.PRK winter park on the Bolshoy Vudjavr slope in Kirovsk opening on February, 20th.
DC and the Bolshoy Vudjavr resort, their efforts united, have developed a unique park which can easily rival neighbor Finnish snowboard parks. A new lift has been built on the ski resort, thus eliminating problematical lift lines. Also, a new snowcat has been purchased and, most important, the whole slope contour is being changed – for more logical park structure and longer lasting snow cover.
The park shapers crew headed by a famous DC prorider Dmitriy Kuksenok are in an active research for different variants of the resort development. DC.KIROVSK.PRK is an enormous experiment which will end by the beginning of the DC.KIROVSK.LAB camp that will take place from April, 25 to May, 5. When completely built, this park will become the most interesting and popular freestyle snowboard spot in Russia.
The concept of DC.KIROVSK.PRK pushes the idea of the last year’s park further: all the lines are parallel to each other, and one can easily change from one to another, from a jib figure to a huge kicker, and then switch to a shred line. Just add a piece of imagination and you’ll get a dozen of lines to choose from! The jib section will be rich in fun figures such as several picnic tables, a dancefloor box, a wallride and many other special obstacles for stylish tricks.
During the DC.KIROVSK.LAB camp the new lift will be open only for the camp participants, forget about long lift lines! From April, 25 to May, 5 the park will host several snowboard contests. Be prepared for traditional men’s amateur, men’s pro and women’s contests and also a novelty – a snowboard jam DC.Fun&Style – no rotations more than 540 allowed, only new and stylish tricks, use your brain!
As for evening activities, every day the camp guests will be invited to the Bolshoy Vudjavr club, where they’ll be shown daily video blogs and photo sessions from the park followed by a rich music program featuring DJ’s from Murmansk, St Petersburg, Moscow and a special guest from London.
For those who want to spend the end of the snowboarding season in a terrific park with lots of fun DC.KIROVSK.LAB opens its doors from April, 25 to May, 5 and DC.KIROVSK.PRK will be open until the last snow leaves Kirovsk!
