Deidre Schoo is a freelance photographer and documentary filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. A regular contributor to the New York Times, she has covered a diverse range of topics from upstart cultural phenomena to rehab centers and shoe shops! As a documentary filmmaker, she is directing and shooting a project on street dance in East New York and similar communities.

Deidre studied at the International Center of Photography in New York. Her work has been recognized by various organizations and
publications, including Photo District News, National Geographic and ASMP.

Michael Beach Nichols (director/producer) is a Brooklyn-based documentary filmmaker. His first feature documentary, The Man Behind the Curtain, explored the troubled mind and work of a Canadian artificial intelligence researcher, and had its premiere at the Globians Doc Fest in Berlin. Brick City (Associate Producer/Associate Editor), the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated 11-part Sundance documentary series, navigated Newark, New Jersey’s bold attempts at urban transformation in the face of a half-century of violence, poverty, and corruption. Prayer for a Perfect Season (Associate Producer/Associate Editor) chronicled the tumultuous 2010-2011 season of Elizabeth, NJ’s St. Patrick High School basketball team as they rose to number one in the national rankings. It aired on HBO during the fall of 2011.
