Marcia Bujold is a filmmaker, artist, graphic designer and art director working in broadcast animation, web design and print media. Marcia has designed and directed a wide variety of animation, promotion and graphic projects for major broadcast companies: HBO, Cinemax, CBS, NBC, USA Network, Showtime, PBS and Court TV. Her animation and design work appears in several feature length documentary films, including Grace Paley: Collected Shorts, Doc, Fine Rain: Politics and Folk Music in China, Waterscapes, and When Learning Comes Naturally – which is part of PBS’s The Learning Child Series. Marcia’s print work includes design and illustration for book publishers, advertising and promotional campaigns. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Time Magazine and Life Magazine, as well as books by Random House and Workman Publishing. She served as production manager for several print campaigns for cultural institutions.

Marcia is the founder of Wingspan Films, which is currently in production on Wind Above, Earth Below, windabove.com/ a feature length documentary about China’s ancient folk kite and the artists who struggle to keep their tradition alive. Since launching the project in 2000, she has interviewed dozens of traditional kitemakers, printmakers and calligraphers in mainland China and is documenting their work. She has produced several short films.
