I'm a motorcycle ridin' and wrenchin', computer wranglin', electronics buildin', woodworkin', inventive lesbian. What more do you need to know?
I've only been in the computer business for 30 years. I've wanted to work with computers since I was 8 years old. I started working with them when I was about 15. I remember 8" floppy discs and washing-machine sized hard drive cabinets. I remember the Altair 8800 and the Sinclair ZX81 and the TRS-80. I've worked on PDP-11's and various flavor of VAXes. I've grown and adapted and learned - all on my own - over the years, to keep up with the changing technologies. Self-taught all the way.
At this stage of my life, I call myself a tinkerer and/or an inventor and/or a computer person. I've done things from building computers from boards up to doing framing and wiring on buildings. I'm fluent in both Linux and Windows. Plumbing repairs and retro-fits. I work on my motorcycle and car. In short, I'm pretty darned handy!
Oh, yeah - I'm also a prepper. Been workin' on that since 2011.
