The Dorset Music Awards offer a well established platform in the Dorset Music Scene that give musicians within it the opportunity to play and develop their art, putting a spotlight on grass roots music of Dorset. Over the years Industry professionals including Radio 1’s Rob da Bank, Mercury Music prize founder Jon Webster and Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins have travelled to the final to see the talent on offer. The event has been developed to bring benefits in a very real way to musicians, as well as helping prepare the musicians for what is to come should they progress into a competitive industry.
