Longtime journalist, photojournalist and -- on a short venture into the dark side -- political operative who retired from the day-to-day grind in Washington, DC, in 2004 to relocate to the mountains of Southwestern Virginia, where he works on video documentaries, photo essays and other projects.

Shoots video for fun, for area TV stations and newspaper web sites. Also covers county government, courts for local media and shoots sports and features for newspapers.

"I'm not a filmmaker, a documentarian or an artist," he says. "I'm just a self-taught photographer and videographer who likes to tell stories through pictures and films -- nothing more, nothing less.

Current Project: "Our America," a documentary of this country in the new century.
