"As a modern day Transcendentalist, DreamingBear is the Walt Whitman of this generation.!"
~New York Times best selling author Dr. Harold Bloomfield~

DreamingBear Baraka Kanaan is an internationally renowned award-winning author of eight books, transformational linguistic alchemy artist, and environmental-peace advocate who elegantly blends quantum understandings of the universe with inner expressions of the heart. He is President of The Lovevolution Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering personal and universal transformation through: Edutainment, The Arts, Social Justice, & Environmentalism.

"This heart's intention is to inspire the very Source of existence itself, to give the Universe goosebumps, to metaphorically make the Milky Way say WOW with the creativity & art that comes through this vessel. In part, this heart feels called to be a voice for the wilderness, & to say what the trees would say if they had vocal chords. This voice is here to be an advocate for the Earth itself in an authentic desire to share the wealth of energy & wisdom absorbed by being immersed in a life long romantic & intellectual love affair with the Cosmos. In this expression of creative vulnerability, the index for success is to inspire others to have the courage to be the dream they seek as well..." says DreamingBear.

The foundation for DreamingBear’s work as a transformational epic orator & poetic storyteller is deeply attuned to the natural world. His work was as a university teacher/researcher of the performance arts was further defined by years spent living off the grid. While in a deep communion with what the Hawaiians call the a'ina, or life force of the land; he began to take his artistry to a new level and developed many of the works that have proven to be inspiring to so many. Upon recognizing a great need for humanity to converge more deeply with the natural world. DreamingBear went on to create his life on the magical island paradise of Maui, exploring the rich lush primordial forests & tropical canopies, making nature his canvas of choice as he sought to evolve new paradigm languages to inspire a higher level of global consciousness. Maui is still where DreamingBear calls home, & is ever engaged in the creative process of translating the whisperings of nature into linguistic works of art. You can find him living the poem in Haiku, & growing the Lovevolution public charity 501c3 by hosting 'once a month week-long retreat experiences' for people wanting to elegantly reconnect with nature & experience the tropical majesty of Hawaii.

New York Times best selling author Dr. Hari Bloomfield says, "I think of DreamingBear as a modern day transcendentalist, experimenting with the literary artistry of living close to nature as did Thoreau. However, his verse has scientific implications & is both mystic as well as academically inclined, so as to tease out the textures of language in the verbose lineage of Emerson. Listening to him speak in person, one is inundated with the authentic, vulnerable, & unashamed celebration of life in it's myriad expressions. In my opinion, DreamingBear is the Whitman of his generation, & his work deserves a wide diverse global audience."

DreamingBear has traveled the world extensively, sharing his message of unconditional love and fulfillment of personal potential with audiences as diverse as international dignitaries, corporate groups, and third world refugees. DreamingBear holds a master’s degree in Performance Communication, is completing his second MA in Indigenous Philosophies, and is the author of eight books including Wild Love, Literati, Honeycomb Prophecies, & Sky Scriptures, in addition to five spoken word & world music CD’s. DreamingBear is a frequent guest in the media & a former college professor, now an acclaimed keynote speaker conducting seminars, interactive playshops, and inspired gatherings worldwide.
