Dustin Bolton
I have been active in the Atlanta area animation and production community since 2005, after completing my undergraduate work at Rhode Island School of Design and receiving my B.F.A. in 2004. Turner Studios hired me to be apart of a second unit flash animation team charged with producing the half hour animated comedy, Stoker and Hoop for Cartoon Network’s adult swim. After Stroker and Hoop’s first season I was placed on Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law. On Harvey Birdman I was given the chance to hone my skills as a character animator. Which lead to landing the chance to animate a full commercial spot for Radical Axis featuring the Harvey Birdman title characters. Being in Atlanta has allowed me to make great strides proving my skills with hands on projects and working with talented professionals. Im am a highly motivated collaborative worker that enjoys getting the project right and making sure the client and audience is satisfied.
Career Highlights
Robot Martini/ Sept-Present
Dualbo, Inc.
Animation Direction/ Proof of Concept
Currently I’m developing an animation mechanic to take Robot Martini’s signature illustration style to full animation, utilizing Adobe Flash to convert Illustrator files to flash character puppets that can be easily manipulated in a production environment.
Verizon Wireless/ July-August, 2008
Light-box Studios, Llc / Dualbo, Inc
Character Design/ Sequence Illustration
The work with Verizon pertained to working with a director to match the style and direction of rough boards that demonstrated composition and timing for the animated sequences. My job was to finalize full color renderings of the characters and props to be composite with the final background illustrations.
Intel-Lenovo/ April-July, 2008
Light-box Studios, Llc / Dualbo, Inc
Character Design/ Animation Background Design
I designed original characters backgrounds for three separate spots. Each spot centered on an Olympic sporting event. Pitting the Intel team against an opposing team representing Intel competitors. The designs I provided needed to invoke a modern stylized rendering of characters that have a graphic approach to design yet could be easily animated in flash. All of the designs I completed were created and submitted using flash.
Kaiser Permanente/ May-July, 2008

Awesome Inc./ December, 2006-January, 2007
Cartoon Network Foster’s Home for imaginary Friends Interstitials
Animation Direction/ Storyboarding/ Character Animation
A series of seven commercial Interstitials needed to complete within a deadline of four weeks from storyboarding to final animation. I was in charge of implementing a roadmap and division of labor to complete each thirty second spot. After working with the production supervisor I suggested that rough animation layout completed in flash would be the best way to plan out the action for each spot based on the supplied scripts for the client. The over all work was broken up between 3 story artist that were to take the script and flesh out the sequence of action. I completed storyboards for three of the seven spots. Once the storyboards were reviewed they were synced with the supplied dialogue audio tracks and timed for final animation. The final animation was completed within the last two and a half weeks of the production schedule.
Latchkey Ent./ July,2006-Present
Dualbo, Inc.
Big Ma’s Daycare (Currently in Development)
With Latchkey I was directly contracted through my legal entity Dualbo,Inc. to develop original visual designs and storyboards from a script treatment provided by producers from Latchkey Ent.

Radical Axis/ July, 2006-Septemeber,2006
Harvey Birdman Cooper Mini Commercial
Character Animation/ Resource Acquisition
Comedy Central’s: Freakshow
Character Animation/ Resource Acquisition
My duties on the production of Freakshow were to complete final pieces of character animation as dictated by the Supervising Director and Animation director of the series. I would retrieve initial flash files from the data server. These files would include roughly drawn storyboard panels and audio dialogue tracks. As a staff character animator I would use these rough templates to layout the final line drawings in Key frames using macromedia flash and a WACOM digital interface. These layout keys would then be submitted to the animation supervisor for quality control and initial approval. After receiving directing notes I would proceed to complete the final animation. Final animation was completed on average 15 seconds per week, and reviewed by the animation supervisor and director
