Dům umění města Brna je součástí brněnské kultury již téměř sto let; dnes se výrazně orientuje na současné umění. Dům umění města Brna je otevřená moderní instituce, která zprostředkovává a podněcuje kontakt mezi umělci a veřejností. Dům umění je tradičně jedním z nejvýznamnějších hybatelů brněnské kultury, jeho ambicí je stát se dynamickým prostorem zapojeným do sítě prestižních evropských galerií.

The Brno House of Arts is a contributory organization of the statutory City of Brno. Although its current focus is primarily on contemporary art, it has been an integral part of Brno's cultural life for almost 100 years. From the very beginning, the institution has mainly organized exhibitions; it houses no collections. It aims to inform the general public about the newest developments in the international art scene – with a particular focus on Europe. Up until now an emphasis has been laid on the politico-cultural direction exemplified by “Eastern Art”; a thematic focus has also been placed on photography and architecture. Besides its exhibitions, the Brno House of Arts offers a regular off-program of readings, concerts, lectures and artist talks.
