Treston Lacy, Senior 2014
My name is Treston Lanqué Lacy. I was born on October 19, 1995 in Dallas, Texas. I’ve been living here in the Lone Star State all my life and enjoy every bit of it, even the crazy weather. I grew up with 3 other siblings and 7 cousins, and it was always a pretty full house. Around the age of 4, I became interested in expressing myself through my music. I started playing drums, piano, and guitar at church. As I grew older, I began to better my craft without even knowing how to read music. I also had the experience of being in the Skyline Jazz Band my freshman year. But music is just a constructive hobby for me and a way to stay out of trouble.
My true passion is science. So I combine my knowledge of science and my talent of communication together and took after the role as a meteorologist. Inspirations such as Greg Fields and Troy Dugan gave me the push I needed to stay focused on my path. When I was 6, my parents took me to Skyline High School in Pleasant Grove to meet Mr. Greg Fields. I looked up to him and politely told him’ “My Name is Treston Lacy and I want your job!” Since that day, I have vowed to live up to those words. I have attended schools such as Dallas Environmental Science Academy in West Dallas and was part of the Advanced Science Cluster at Skyline High School.
I am now a senior in the Performing Arts Academy at DeSoto High School. Being in this academy has really shown me that being on an anchor desk is harder than it may look. But the excellent teachings by my “T-Jones” Ms. Grigsby have shown me that I have what it takes to be a great meteorologist along with those before me. My dream to be the best at all I do is comforted by my favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
