To only write songs about the good times would not give an accurate portrayal of life. Being human means that we have weaknesses, inadequacies, and failures. This life is filled with pain, but it is through that pain that we experience the love and compassion of God. The loss of a loved one, the stress of work, the heartbreak of a failed relationship, financial burden, disappointment from family, the pressures of school, all point to a Savior who not only eases our pain, but brings hope that a new day will dawn. God is not the author of our pain; He is the answer to it. This life is not the end, and we are not alone.
