Everett Community Television (ECTV) is a community media center that operates the public and government cable access television channels in the City of Everett, along with the ECTV Technology Center, a computer center that offers computer access and training. Together with Everett High School, which operates the educational access channel, (EHS-TV), ECTV oversees the management of the City’s cable access channels as provided for under the cable television license between the City and Comcast, the local cable TV provider.
As a community media center, ECTV provides a wide range of services to facilitate communication and dialogue among city residents. The station produces programs of community interest, covers City Council meetings and other important events in the community, offers training and support to residents who wish to produce their own TV programs, and also allows residents to sponsor and submit programming as well.
The ECTV Technology Center provides access to computers and the Internet for residents, along with computer classes in various office and television applications.
Members of the Everett community are encouraged to take advantage of our programs, which are open primarily to Everett residents and members of Everett businesses and organizations on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our goal is to not only inform our residents about what is happening in our city, but to empower them to share their stories with their neighbors so as to enrich our larger community experience, and to encourage media and computer literacy among Everett citizens, which is so vital in the modern digital information age.
