Hi. I'm a multimedialist: a journalist, multimedia producer, creative designer and a very visually-oriented storyteller.
By day I am a digital reporter/producer at the PBS NewsHour in Washington, D.C. on the business and economics beat. Translation: I create, produce and/or edit web videos, infographics, motion videos, photo essays, blog posts and social media campaigns. pbs.org/newshour/
I'm also a freelance multimedia producer and web designer. Check out some of my work at elizabethshell.com
I earned an m.m.c. from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. I focused on the traditional pillars of solid journalism while having a blast exploring multimedia. I have a strong love for telling stories through lots of different ways: video, written word, interactive, photography, audio, color and design. The key, I believe, is using the most compelling, the most appropriate medium to tell a story. And then getting your editor and developer on board.
