Elliott Woods is the writer, photographer, and multimedia producer behind Assignment Afghanistan (assignmentafghanistan.org), an interactive multimedia project focusing on civilian and military issues surrounding the Afghan conflict. Elliott is a frequent contributor to the Virginia Quarterly Review, and he is VQR's 2010 winner of the Staige D. Blackford Prize for non-fiction. Elliott's work has also been honored by the Overseas Press Club of America, and has appeared in Mother Jones, GlobalPost, and the Washington Times.
