Eloy Domínguez Serén was born 1985 Simes, in the province of Pontevedra (Galicia). He studied Bachelor of Science in Communication with Specialization in Cinema and Television Arts at the Salamanca in Salamanca, Milan and Barcelona, where he graduated in 2010.
Before debuting as a filmmaker, his work in cinema was focused on the theoretical analysis of movies, as a film critic for Radio Galega and as an editor-in-chief of A Cuarta Parede. He has also written in Cahiers du Cinéma España and Cineuropa.org.
In 2010 he was a member of the International Youth Jury at 67th Venice International Film Festival. One year later he completed a Master’s Degree in Theory and Practice of Creative Documentary Making at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Also in 2011 he made his first film, 'The Sons of Samson', co-produced by Televisió de Catalunya (the public broadcasting network of Catalonia). This documentary has been released in several tv channels and international film festivals in both Spain and abroad.
In 2012 he immigrated to Sweden, where he made his second short film: 'Pettring'. This short was premiered at the 2013 Seville European Film Festival and showed at international festivals in Spain, France or Slovenia.
In the spring of 2014 he worked as a film teacher at School of Media Studies Abidin Kaid Saleh (Western Sahara).
He is currently finishing the post-production of his second and third films: 'Jet Lag' and 'Midwinter'.
