Elvin Flamingo / Jarek Czarnecki
Elvin Flamingo a.k.a. Jarosław Czarnecki. Artist. Born in Pelplin, Poland in 1967, he lives and works in Sopot. He is both a visual art and documentary filmmaker. He is a 2004 graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, Gdansk. His diploma film was awarded a special jury prize in 2005. In 2009 his film Small Spaces won on a Gold Remi Award at the 42nd WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival in the Arts/Cultural category. He is the founder and president of Un Gusto a Miel Art Foundation. Since 2011, he has been in the Intermedia doctoral program at the Academy of Fine Arts, Gdansk. His films include Jothabelsi, This is not America, Where I'm From, Connotations, Prosperity, The Joiner's Baby, I'm trying not to blink, Pete Best of the Beatles, and others.
