Growing up in Maryland and Hawai'i, Emily was constantly fascinated by the natural world surrounding her. Favorite pastimes like surfing and scuba diving nurtured that passion over the years. During high school and college, Emily discovered an interest in filmmaking and she has successfully combined the two fields and is pursuing an M.F.A. in Science and Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University. While in undergrad and graduate school, Emily has produced several of her own short documentaries and worked with the National Wildlife Federation and TEDx. For her undergraduate thesis film, Emily had the unique chance to work with the Historic St. Mary’s City Museum where she got to live on a 17th century recreation tall ship. Emily’s goal is to use filmmaking to educate and inspire others to care about the wonderful world we live in.
