Enrique Franco Lizarazo
Industrial Designer from the National University of Colombia, Master´s in Digital Arts from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona-Spain, and Master of Science from the University of Limerick in Ireland.
Enrique is interested in sound, music and multimedia programming and performance and has developed programs such as Miró, a flexible expressive audiovisual system for real-time performance and composition. He has worked in several research projects at the Interaction Design Centre-IDC of the University of Limerick and the Interactive Media Design program at the Icesi University in Colombia.
Enrique has composed several audiovisual pieces and performances with artists such as Zachary Lieberman (USA), and sound artists Mauricio Bejarano (Colombia), Roberto García (Colombia) and nowadays with the PLUG Collective. He is guitarist and has played with rock bands such as La Tina and Los Aparecidos.
Enrique’s works have been shown in several international events and conferences such as the Akzente Festival in Duisburg-Germany (2001), NIME02 in Dublin-Ireland (2002), NIME04 in Hamamatsu-Japan (2004), NIME06 in Paris-France (2006) and the Artronica Festival (2004), the ARTBO exhibition(2005), the IX Bienal de Arte (2006-2007) in Bogotá-Colombia, Mobility Fest (2008), Festival Internacional de Cine y TV in Cartagena-Colombia (2008), Dorkbot (Mexico and Colombia, 2007-2009), Second Iberoamerican Art Exhibition in Mexico (2009), Festival Internacional de la Imagen in Manizales (2009, 2010, 2011).
Nowadays, Enrique is teaching at the Design Department of Universidad de los Andes and the Aesthetics Department of Universidad Javeriana.
