It’s pronounced / yoo-kel-ah-vich /.
I grew up just outside Los Angeles and now live just outside New York City. In honor of my bicoastality, I named my home wireless network “Manhangeles.” I shoot with Digital SLRs, medium format digital backs, my iPhone and whatever else feels right in my hands. Yes, I’m old enough to have shot with film and lurk in darkrooms. No, I don’t have any, but I’m fascinated by tattoos on everyone else. I train in Muay Thai, traditional Thai boxing, partially to work off the consequences of my fierce sweet tooth. That said, I’m reserved and friendlier than I look. If I wasn’t shooting I would have been a psychologist. (I like listening more than talking.) You might have seen my work with American Airlines or Redken. I enjoy both the creative process with a team on larger sets and the quiet focus of personal projects. Either way, I’ll probably be on set playing a mix of Trip Hop, Nina Simone, Cesaria Evora and Dubstep. I like black. Consequently, people sometimes call my style “moody.”
