Eric Leonardson
Chicago-based composer, radio artist, sound designer, instrument inventor, improviser, visual artist, and teacher. Eric has devoted a majority of his professional career to unorthodox approaches to sound and its instrumentation with a broad understanding of texture, atmosphere and micro-tones. He is a founder of the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology (MSAE), a chapter of the American Society for Acoustic Ecology (ASAE) dedicated to exploring the role of sound in natural habitats and human societies, and the U.S. affiliate of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology. Eric is a founder, composer, sound designer, and performer in Plasticene, an experimental theater company started in 1995.
