Ernest is an award winning documentary producer, editor, writer and a colorist.
He started as an online editor/ VFX compositor in 2001 for high-end commercial post-production in Sydney, Australia. In 2005, he took a break from post production and travelled to six different countries in South and South East Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives) to lead the research, recording and the production of the internationally acclaimed feature documentary, Laya Project.
Ernest has since directed, shot, and edit a documentary in Burma (Voice Over the Bridge), working freelance as cameraman in Israel and edit indigenous documentary series in the Australian outback.
In 2012, Street Ballad: A Jakarta Story, an observational documentary that Ernest subtly crafted, premiered on PBS across the US and was selected by The New York Times as one of the best non-fiction TV show in 2012.
Jalanan (Streetside), a feature-length documentary that Ernest co-produced, written and edited, won the Best Documentary award in the prestigious Busan International Film Festival 2013 in Korea.
Ernest works between Australia, Asia and his editing and post production studio in Ubud - Bali, Indonesia.
