Actually, the video above is over-saturated and over-contrasty. It's a natural look, but also a tell-tell sign of the "video look". The Canons are more careful to strike a balance between the filmic look and the video look. And of course, they give you the ability with their Color Settings and Cinemode to go directly "filmic" if you want (which entails low saturation and very low contrast). The Sanyo doesn't have this ability. Personally, I always shoot with the lowest saturation/contrast possible, as I explain on this blog post: eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2009/08/10/the-filmic-look-with-a-digicam/ because I am after the filmic look, not the video one.

The good thing about these new Sanyo cams is that they sport full manual control, something that Canon hasn't yet given us in their consumer cams.
