The European Left is a political party at European level. Founded on 8-9 May 2004, it now includes 30 member and observer parties from the EU member states and associated countries of the European Union. The European Left brings together socialist, communist, anti-capitalist, red-green and other democratic parties, establishing various forms of cooperation at all levels of political activity in Europe. Membership to the European Left is open to any left party and political organisation in Europe that agrees with the aims and principles of its manifesto and statutes.
