Elizabeth Wurst Performance
Born 1985 in Lima- Peru, Elizabeth Wurst studies since 2006 at the Fine Arts University of Braunschweig, Germany by Candice Breitz, Guy Ben-Ner, Thomas Virnich and Vera Bourgeois. From 2005 to 2006 she studied Art History at the University of Cologne.
Currently living and working in Lima and Braunschweig, she has just been recently invited to participate in the exhibition “Playing the City” at the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, with other artists such as Tino Sehgal and Rirkrit Tiravanija.
Wurst is invested in researching public space dynamics and social behaviours. Her works usually involves participation of the audience, which most of the time is an involuntary one. Interventions on everyday life routines and expectations are captured in video and fotography or carried out in live actions.
