I was born in Cadillac, Michigan. Lived in 5 states since then: Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio, California and Illinois. Grew up in NorCal (Arcata, CA) and schooled in LA (Occidental College). My dad was not in the army. He was in TV. My mom is a quilter. She kept her name. That's why I use all three. They are both retired, still madly in love and I think they're the most amazing people in the world.

I love thinking about brands, strategy and planning. I also love actually doing the work. I love writing (ads, websites and just for kicks). I love basketball, shoes, cars, beer, bicycles, my family, and movies (regardless of their quality). I have fun with graphic design but I’m not any good at it. I used to be a runner. I hope to someday own a magazine empire and a shoe company. If you’ve got either for sale (cheap) I’m interested.

I also really like to draw and make things.
