THE OFFICIAL VIMEO PAGE OF FANNY PAK

Coming together in 2008 under the direction of Matt Cady, we could only hope that we would accomplish as much as we have already. For the past five years, we have been pushing the envelope and changing the perception of what “dance” exactly is. Being apart of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, a program that showcases hip-hop dance, we were able to bring our hip, trendy, and 80′s-influenced style to the public eye. Not only are we dancers, but we’re also storytellers. Our ability to entertain brought us a lot of opportunities to work with some of the world’s greatest artists. We competed and won the MTV VMA Challenge and performed at the 2008 VMA’s. Winning this challenge allowed us to donate $25,000 to a charity of our choice and we chose United Cerebral Palsy. We performed in Lil Mama’s “Truly in Love” music video, made an appearance in Toni Braxton’s, “Make My Heart” music video, and we were even mentioned in Lil’ Wayne’s “Watch my Shoes” song. Along with a few other ABDC albums, we appeared in the movie, “Honey 2″. We even created a shoe line with an independent company in New York City, MilkShake Kicks! Together, we created the Battle I’s and the Battle Blacks. The Battle Blacks are available in select sizes on our website. Kim and Kourtney Kardashian teamed up with Svedka Vodka to have the “R U Bot or Not? Dance Challenge” and we represented Team Kourtney and won the competition. In 2009, we worked with the Delaware Film Company and filmed a documentary called “Fanny Goes to the Academy” which chronicled our experiences with the Margot Fonteyn Ballet Academy. It has been a whirlwind since the show. Of all the ABDC crews, we were the first to create an hour-long stage show, and we debuted it at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. It’s a stepping-stone on the journey to fulfilling our goal of having a traveling live stage show. Our stage show dreams inspired us to create music. In the entertainment world, dancers are always in the background. There are some artists who dance – Usher, Janet Jackson, Christ Brown, etc. – but dance has always been secondary to music.

In 2009 we began working with District 78, the studio that does all of the master mixes for ABDC, we recorded an album. Our amazing bond with District 78 bridges the gap between music and dance. It gives us complete control over the audience experience. When dancers dance, it’s most often to someone else’s music. We decided on combining the Fanny Pak style that our fans know and love, with music that we designed specifically for it. We’re making dance the star and making hits at the same time. Working with District 78 has been spectacular and it gave us the opportunity to work with Chonique Sneed, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas and Far East Movement. The music is HOT and the epitome of everything we stand for: hip and trendy style with sweet beats that people will never get tired of listening to! Our first EP, “A Touch of Fanny” dropped on August 17, 2010 and landed at #6 on the iTunes dance charts the first week.

It’s been some time since our days on ABDC, but in 2012, we were offered a chance to come back and compete again for the title of America’s Best Dance Crew. We look forward to competing again and bringing something fresh to the stage for Season 7. The first episode aired Weds, April 11th, 2012 at 10pm on MTV. We need your votes! Please tune into ABDC Wednesday nights at 10pm/ 9c and vote for the Pak! Join the Pak. Be Different. Be You.
