Fatbear Productions started in 2004 when I bought my first digital camera that could record videos. In high school I had always tried to video our ski days at Crystal Mountain, Washington, but lacked the necessary equipment to film anything worthwhile.

After graduating from the U of U in 2005, I began filming more and more clips of my friends and I skiing the various resorts of Utah. Upon discovering iMovie on my iBook, I started to piece the clips together into short videos for my friends and I to look back on in the off-season.

The 2006 All-Star Ski Flick was the first fully edited video. Consisting of 10 minutes of great music, good lifestyle shots, decent skiing, poor editing, and lousy filming techniques.

The following year, I made Sick, a 25-minute ski movie of my friends and I skiing in Utah and our first international trip to Whistler, BC, Canada. Highlights include the 19th Annual Fat Bear Mountain Freestyle Invitational Open Classic.

Sick 2, filmed during the 2007-2008 ski season, is a 34-minute ski film documenting another ski trip to Whistler, some backcountry skiing, the Canyons Pond Skim contest, some backcountry jumps, and a lot of decent powder skiing.

The last full-length film, Cliche, chronicled the 2008-2009 season. Filmed in HD and using advanced editing software (iMovie 8), the film features deep powder, cliffs, and freeskiing in Utah, Tahoe, Whistler, and Jackson Hole among others.

For the 2009-2010 season, Fatbear Productions abandoned the full length film in favor of weekly ski edits. In all, we released 11 edits for the season.

The 2010-2011 season features more of the weekly edits.
