findMe intl has been established to connect Chinese adoptees with the people of China. Along this journey we have humbly found ourselves being asked by an orphanage adoption director to make high quality videos so that kids may find the best suited families. We have found this process to be quick and efficient, particularly for older children in danger of aging out.
Below is Mike's story leading up to the conception of "findMe international".
In 2001 something was seriously stirring in me about adopting an orphan. It had been something thought of for a long time. I was sad to think of another child growing up without a family, as I have known a family.
Hard financial times hit with the "crash" of the stock market. My small business suffered. Financially we were in a place worse than when we had made the decision to adopt. So many times, I was telling myself that business was bad and we couldn't adopt. But I had faith that what we were about to do, through adoption, should have no monetary link or fear. It was good. We should sacrifice our financial comfort and love a child, who was a stranger and needs a family . Good things are not always easy. In fact, many times not.
Much more of our story and the stories of others we plan to tell through this presence on Vimeo. This organization is called "findMe international". findMe international is multi faceted. Much of the organization's missions will be explained and shared through short films. The broad mission of findMe international is to help adoptees connect with who they are. With hopes of becoming better by finding themselves. findMe international has been established to help adoptees connect with the people of their birth culture, so that they can can experience true relationship and culture from within their birth culture.
Our first sense of need is to help adoptees from China to connect personally with the Chinese People.
Our hope is that "findMe international" matures and there will be no boundaries. Our hopes are to connect adoptees worldwide with the people of their birth cultures.
