I make animated and experimental films guided by my education in film making and my own experience of seeing. I feel a great deal of tension between my practice as a commercial artist and my own personal work. Mostly the roles fight each other for time.
I teach animation at the University of Colorado, Boulder and video production at RMCAD in Lakewood. I love teaching. Even as a professional artist I consider teaching the most creative job I have ever had. I am inspired mostly by abstraction yet motivated by people and relationships. I am devoted to the moving image as art and have no prejudice against format, it just has to be done right. I continue to make work in Super 8, 16mm, 35mm, SD video, and HD video.
