Hello,

I'm an amateur editor and have hit a brick wall with subtitling.

I have a video with English subtitles. Edited in premiere pro cs5 and the subtitles written in .srt format. I would like to upload the video to vimeo but as I understand it I would first have to 'burn' the subtitles onto video file. However I cannot find a way or a program that can do this.

I know in Premiere Pro CC you can create and edit subtitles as mcc or ssc but I believe you cannot still burn them onto the video file.

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Much appreciated!!

Another reason I chose Avid over Premiere. Sony Vegas can do it to I believe , so maybe download a trial version of that.

We NEED subtitle option in Vimeo ! It's a shame for an cutting edge player nowadays to be subtitle less !
You push us to use Youtube... Please ! On veux des options de sous-titre !

Figured out a way round this without resorting to new software. VLC let's you burn the subtitles onto the video and offers some control over font, outline and shadow... which is sufficient for my needs. And works very well. :)

Also just noticed that vimeo is now supporting closed captioning!! :))
